If you are graduating with a Ph.D. in physics or a related field, and have experience working with particle accelerators, we’d love to have you join our team!
We are a multidisciplinary team of hardworking, and dedicated scientists and engineers, who develop novel sensors and chemistry tools for the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community. As a member of our team, you will work with physicists, engineers, chemists, and biologists to tackle our nation’s most important problems.

As a member of our team, you will...

  • Assist with operation, maintenance, and modification of a 25 MeV pulsed radio frequency linac.
  • Design and build radiation detection instruments.
  • Study properties of materials in high-radiation environments.
  • Pursue independent research, develop new approaches to critical national challenges, and craft original proposals.
  • Collaborate with nuclear engineers and physicists, to translate operational needs into functional prototypes.
  • Interface with potential collaborators and develop relationships.


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
  • Have a PhD in physics or a related discipline, and have a strong academic record.
  • Have a strong understanding of accelerator components, including vacuum systems, magnets, and pulsed power.
  • Can write software for data analysis and system control.
  • Are able to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
  • Have experience writing research proposals.
  • Have experience performing beam optics calculations.
  • Can use CAD programs and design electronics.
  • Have experience working in the areas of national defense, terrorism, and weapons of mass destruction.
