ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position may include:

  • Fieldwork such as soil, sediment, surface water, drinking water, and groundwater, indoor air and soil gas sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation and source identification;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER, health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: between 10% to 75%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 10% to 20%

EDUCATION AND LICENSUREB

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, engineering, geology or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in chemistry engineering, geology or related field. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, if applicable. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Apply theoretical knowledge and problem-solving skills gained from academic training and work experience to practical situations in the core area of competency (e.g. geotechnical engineers and geologists should be able to interpret borings and geologic information to develop cross-sections and apply the results of their efforts to the development of a solution to the client s problem).
  • Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances including, sampling, analysis, fate and transport, chemical fingerprinting, and source identification.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
  • Technical experience in environmental chemistry, geology, geotechnical, or related disciplines. (preferred)
  • At least 2 years of related experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of programing language(S) such as R or python (valuable)
  • Experience with passive samplers (valuable)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Experience with construction work such as plumbing, electrical, structural, geotechnical, or mechanical tasks. (valuable)
  • Valid U.S. driver s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
