Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services.

We are currently seeking Accounting clerks for our billing office at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. The billing office provides the healthcare team with comprehensive billing and follow up support on patient services.

WORK SCHEDULE: DAYS - 8:30AM - 5:00PM/Full-time

Qualifications:

• Experience processing Facility, Ancillary, ER, and Clinics claims (1 to 2 years)
• Experience with facility reimbursement methodologies (i.e. Diagnosis Related Groups, DRG, Ambulatory Payment Classification, APC; or Ambulatory Patient Group, APG, etc.).
• Understanding of payment and billing principles for inpatient and outpatient services
• Proficiency in medical terminology, medical coding (CPT4, ICD10, and HCPCS), provider contract concepts and common claims processing/resolution practices.
• Experience with MS Excel functions that include creating standardized reports, utilizing pivot tables, filtering, and formulas to generate desired results.

Requirements:

• 1- 2 years inpatient and/or outpatient hospital billing experience required
• Associates degree in healthcare or business-related field from an accredited institution (required).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (preferred)
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and collection preferred
• Good computer skills with knowledge of excel spread sheets.
• Coding certificates as of CPC, COC, CCS, CIC, RHIT (preferred)
