ATFCU is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager is a highly responsible position that reports directly to the VP of Accounting and regularly interacts with the VP of Finance and President/CEO. This individual must be service focused, organized, detail oriented, and able to perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day functions of the accounting department.
  • Ensure that credit union accounting processes are completed in accordance with GAAP and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supervise accounting staff in a manner that focuses on creating a motivated, well-trained cohesive team.
  • Manage and perform accounting functions to include AP, AR, budgets, cash flow, cost management, credit and collections, financial analysis, financial reporting and recordkeeping, GL, investments, payroll, and taxes.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of department policies and procedures.
  • Assist Senior Management with creation and monitoring of the annual budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on the financial condition of the credit union.
  • Perform functions related to FedLine, wire transfers, ACH and share draft processing, dormant accounts, and unclaimed property.
  • Work with federal examiners and independent auditors to provide information necessary for completion of exams and audits.

Qualifications

  • Accounting experience: 5 years
  • Supervisory: 3 years

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting and finance.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/managerial accounting role.
  • Applicants with credit union experience, CPA license, and/or advanced education may be given special consideration.
