SUMMARY:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts and entering and paying vendor invoices timely. Responsibilities also include retail store inventory management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts and creates corresponding journal entries.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting to senior management regarding A/P.
  • Processes month end entries related to A/P, expenses and other assigned accounts
  • Receives inventory into POS system. Sets up new items as needed.
  • Processes transfers of inventory in POS system to branches as needed
  • Participates with accounting and retail store staff to conduct physical inventories as needed throughout the year
  • Serves as primary back up for key functions in accounting department. Identifies opportunities for process improvement within department
  • Completes special projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience required
  • Previous work experience with Accounts Payable is required
  • Computer skills: Great Plains Accounting Software experience preferred; Microsoft Office Outlook, Teams experience required; intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
