Accounts Payable Specialist - Central Sites
Job description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes all central site invoices (state, federal, local, capital outlay) for payment by keying data into the LINQ accounting system
- Process all central employee travel and reimbursement requests for direct deposit by keying data into the LINQ accounting system
- Process non-payroll board member payments
- Verify accounts payable data entry reports for accuracy and provides second check for AP Specialist-School Sites data entry accuracy
- Posts accounts receivable deposits daily
- Analyze LINQ & SchoolFunds vendor files for accuracy
- Switchboard for morning break (10:00-10:15) (Backup for lunch break 12:00-12:30)
- Statement verifications
- Research outstanding invoices
- Communicate with schools/departments on status
- Maintain records of research and communications
- Monthly Contract Reconciliation
- Physical Bank Deposits (for cash) and credit card payments
- Crosstrain with other Accounts Payable Staff
- Backup for Accounts Payable Specialist-School Sites
- Assist with annual year-end school monitoring reviews
- Communicates with school system staff and vendors concerning accounts payable items as required to effectively clear outstanding financial obligations
- Backup for daily mail
- Projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting concepts
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Considerable knowledge of computer applications
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to perform computations accurately and with reasonable speed
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply specific rules and regulations governing the processing of fiscal documents, maintenance of financial records, and preparation of fiscal reports
- Ability to complete complex tasks and minimize errors with attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff and vendors
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field with at least 1 year of bookkeeping/accounting experience or High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience,
- NC school system accounting experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $3,018.00 - $3,950.00 per month
