Accounts Payable Supervisor – The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
This position is responsible for supervising various accounts payable functions in the accounting department for our car care business line. Must be able to manage multi location transactions across multiple programs. Includes, but is not limited to, assisting management with hiring, training programs, monitoring employee performance, job plan evaluation and promoting team and individual skills development. Performs typically highly complex accounting transactions, analysis, and reporting within the accounting department.
Major Responsibilities and Activities

Supervises accounting associates’ workload, monitors accounting associates’ performance and assist finance manager with managerial duties.

Researches and resolves all procedural errors, identifies and corrects issues related to all facets of accounts payable responsibilities.

Communicates procedures, errors, procedure violations and discrepancies with all levels of management orally and in writing.

Serves on project teams to provide accounts payable perspective and expertise for new products, new processes, new vendors and new systems.

Verifies and approves financial information to automated financial sub-ledgers.

Assists in annual budget, providing business unit expertise.
5%
Prepares accounts payable reporting for internal management and completes formal general ledger account reconciliations.

Trains all employees in all facets of work responsibilities and provide developmental opportunities to staff.

Personal Contacts (Internal and External)
This position has contact with others both inside the Club (work unit, department and other departments) and with external clients and customers, primarily to gather and relay data and information that is necessary for business interactions, activities and business decision-making.
Financial Accountability
Position is responsible for good stewardship of any assigned funds, assets and revenues of the work unit and department.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Position is responsible for making decisions and resolving problems in ways that reduce the consequences of any errors or faulty judgment, and minimize impact to the Club and customer and member goodwill.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises accounting associates’ workload, monitors accounting associates’ performance and assist finance manager with managerial duties, including HR related functions.

Accounts Payable Supervisor will earn a competitive salary of $62,000 - $70,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

We’re looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications:
Education
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience
  • 3+ years of related accounting experience that provided knowledge of accounting and staff training and included leadership responsibilities.
  • Travel, Insurance or AAA Club Services industry experience preferred.
Knowledge / Skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead projects within scope of responsibility as requested.
  • Proven PC skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Microsoft office products knowledge (minimum of intermediate level Excel) is preferred. Strong working knowledge of RO Writer, Accounting Link, and Peoplesoft is preferred.
  • 10-key calculator proficiency.
  • Proven analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills that includes. ability to provide good customer service and effectively communicate accounting. discrepancies and issues to customers, vendors, and department staff.
  • Ability to complete work under pressure of regular deadlines.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid work arrangement (time spent in office and remote). Depending on the employee's role and leadership's assessment, some employees will come in to an ACG facility on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or on an "as needed" basis for key meetings and collaborative activities. Most employees will be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or teambuilding events.
