Job Description Provides oversight, leadership, and supervision to the Clinical Pastoral Education Program with regard to administrative and leadership duties and supervision of associate supervisor(s), program residents, and interns in compliance with Association for Clinical Pastoral Education requirements. Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and employees to address needs in coping with the impact of illness, injury, or traumatic events. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Experience
  • Three years of ministry experience including at least one year of leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in healthcare/pediatric
Education
  • Master’s degree in divinity from an accredited graduate school of theology or equivalent
Certification Summary
  • Ordination or recognition as pastor in chosen denomination
  • Full Supervisor by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in grief counseling
Job Responsibilities
1.Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Pastoral Education Program.
2.Provides ongoing supervision to the CPE educators.
3.Coordinates the ongoing process of clinical pastoral education and care delivery to patients and families, incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
4.Provides ongoing supervision and training in clinical pastoral education to the students related to the delivery of pastoral care.
5.Coordinates the day to day operations of the CPE Center office, including program evaluation, budget, and student records.
7.Takes an active role in coaching and mentoring the team to ensure continued employee growth and success, both on the team and at the broader Children's organization.
8.Assists manager with employee performance evaluations and hiring decisions.
