Exciting New Senior Living Community (Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care) Opening Soon! The Director of Life Enrichment is a key member of the leadership team responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing a wide and varied scope of activities and programming which meet the varied needs of the residents. The Director of Life Enrichment candidate will design, lead and develop future programs to meet the needs of our residents including but not limited to the following areas of programming: wellness, intellectual, occupational, social, environmental, spiritual, emotional, physical, artistic and cultural.

The Director of Life Enrichment will report to the Executive Director - and uphold the community’s mission, philosophy, values and the Company’s vision, principles and Hospitality Promises to residents, families, and all visitors. The anticipated start date is May 2022.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities:

· Lead the Life Enrichment team and volunteers to include interviewing, hiring , training, evaluating, coaching and coordinating appropriate activities to conduct with residents.

· Promote a healthy community culture for all residents and employees. This is a whole-person approach to health and wellness which includes eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Health Services, Intellectual, Physical, Social, Spiritual and Vocational. Ensure for and exceed residents’ wellness needs relating to their mind, body and soul.

· Plan and coordinate volunteer and/or pay-per-service entertainment for special events, seasonal events, and educational speakers related to wellness topics that meet the needs and interests of the residents.

· Responsible for activity-related program training for all staff.

· Plan, schedule, and coordinate all resident activities, including special events following the Community’s Life Enrichment programs (including Heartfelt Connections™ Memory Care Program) on a monthly basis. Ensure active facilitation and successful implementation of the LCS Extraordinary Impressions hospitality program and other signature LCS programs.

· Plan, coordinate and direct a balanced program of spiritual, emotional, intellectual, vocational, social, physical and environmental activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of lifestyle activity.

· Communicate information to the Health Services department regarding activity participation and activity ability changes in status that may require resident Care Plan updates.

· Gather each resident’s interests at round table through the Social Spiritual History Assessment for planning person-center approach activities.

· Prepare and distribute the monthly calendars according to the Company’s standards.

· Lead daily resident activities per the Company’s standards.

· Incorporate recreational activities from the outside community and develop close working relationships with those community organizations.

· Oversees coordination of transportation for resident appointments, as well as regular and special recreational outings. May be responsible for transporting residents to appointments, as well as regular and special recreational outings.

· Always follow Resident Rights policies.

· Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned by the Executive Director in an effective, timely and professional manner – and rotate with leadership team as “manager on duty.”

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in recreational activities/life enrichment or the equivalent of working experience in the field
  • Three years’ working experience in activities/life enrichment with seniors.
  • Two years’ experience working with memory care residents.
  • Two years’ supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess current and valid driver’s license and must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the Driver Selection Policy
  • Must be artistically creative, motivational, and energetic with a passion for serving others
  • Must possess high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products and other computer software. Familiarity with required electronics, including but not limited to iPads, tablets, smart TV’s and digital cameras
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
