Responsibilities of the position include: Assist Dean with preparation of annual budget; Maintain an accurate budget spreadsheet and generate requisitions for School of Arts and Letters (SAL); Schedule, coordinate appointments, and maintain an accurate online calendar for Dean; Maintain confidential files; Manage the School of Arts and Letters Office, including ordering office supplies and student employment; Manage hiring documents for the five departments in SAL; Run database reports; Complete mass mailings for Dean; Schedule the Ophelia Parish Performance Hall, including post events on Master Calendar and notification to requestor; Post and maintain Ophelia Parish and Baldwin Hall monitors; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or 2 years of relevant work experience; excellent written, oral, organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrates self-direction and initiative. The candidate must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.

Desired Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include previous secretarial/office experience; proficient skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook); some experience with budget and secretarial support for meetings; and the ability to work with a diverse population and personalities.
