The expected ENTRY pay range for this position based on experience and equity within the Judicial Branch is $54,600.00 to $58,000.00.
This position is exempt under the FLSA.

About the Position
The Judicial Clerk Supervisor provides leadership, supervision, mentoring, and training for Probate and Mental Health Departments staff who provide case processing functions for Probate and Mental Health Court Administration and Judicial Divisions.
Standard Judicial Branch business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. This position may allow for a teleworking schedule up to 3 days per week dependent on the needs of the Judicial Branch.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Five (5) years of court, legal, or directly related experience.
- One (1) year of lead or supervisory experience - to be considered this experience needs to be clearly stated on your application
OR
Combined education and experience qualifications:
- An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and job-related experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis. The supervisory or lead experience cannot be substituted
Our Preferred Candidate has:
- Two (2) or more years of supervisory or lead experience
- A completed Arizona Court Supervisor (ACS) certification or Arizona Court Manager (ACM) certification may substitute for one year of experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Supervisory practices and principles
- Legal terminology, court policies and procedures, customer services standards and procedures, and courtroom proceedings
- Budgeting and accounting
Skill in:
- Computer software such as iCIS, MS Office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Supervising and evaluating assigned staff, coordinating work of subordinates
- Oral and written communications
- Establishing working relationships with others
- Decision making and conflict resolution
Ability to:
- Apply effective supervisory techniques and practices
- Excel in a high volume, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environment

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

- Monitors daily operations and coordinates court activities, ensuring goals, and objectives of the area are being met
- Analyzes data to determine case assignments, individual performance, and overall unit performance
- Supervises, organizes, assesses, and evaluates the workload of staff, modifying workload, and staff assignments
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and retains staff
- Ensures completion of mandated COJET training, evaluates performance of staff, implements corrective action, and develops performance management plans
- Develops and implements standardized training programs, including delivery of in-person, and virtual trainings
- Establishes, promotes, and evaluates performance goals and objectives for annual performance evaluations
- Prepares internal and external management information reports regarding workload, caseload, and service level trends; develops standardized procedures relating to report generation and data control
- Performs the duties of the Department Deputy Administrator, other Supervisory staff and/or staff in their temporary absence
- Investigates and responds to complex public complaints and requests for information or service in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Participates in committees/special projects and provide input to internal and external stakeholders
- Conducts unit meetings on a regular basis with staff; attends department, and judicial branch meetings
- Providing regular onsite or in-person supervision to assess business needs by observation, by monitoring group dynamics with face-to-face interaction and through the use of body language/nonverbal communication, engaging in interpersonal bonding, and modeling expected behaviors
- Reviews court activities for compliance with laws, court rules, or administrative direction, and analyzes the need for rule revisions
- Develops policies and procedures, implements policy decisions, and coordinates with other court departments, county departments, community organizations or other jurisdictions to ensure compliance
- Analyzes resource allocation, customer service delivery trends, case statuses, and presents detailed reports to management
- Assists Administrators with monitoring and developing annual budgets

Office environment. Travel in Maricopa County may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds
