Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm
Job Summary: The Admissions Representative I is responsible for the identification, recruitment, evaluation, and admissions of prospective students for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Additional Department Summary: Plays a key role in the University’s efforts to identify and enroll qualified undergraduate students and will be an on-campus and field representative of the University. The primary duties include the identification, recruitment and admissions of new students. These duties include assisting visitors in the main Admissions Office and/or the Admissions Welcome Center. Additionally, the incumbent will represent UA by attending college fairs, making presentations, and communicating information with prospective students, their families, guidance counselors, alumni, and friends of UA.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: The ability to travel alone out of town, sometimes overnight. Some evening and weekend work is required. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Must be able to obtain a Class C Commercial Driver’s License within 6 months of being hired.
The position requires the capability to stand for long periods of time and to lift and carry large quantities of sometimes heavy recruitment materials.
Skills and Knowledge: An interest in working with prospective college students and their families; the ability to work with different cultures and groups of people. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge in the usage of personal computers and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management programs). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
