Adult Services Librarian

Part-time 20-25 hrs/wk

North Suburban Library District (NSLD) Adult Services is seeking a part-time Adult Services Librarian or Adult Services Librarian Assistant to work as a team member at our Reference Services desk. NSLD is a public library with two locations: NSLD/Loves Park and NSLD/Roscoe. We serve a population of 69,307 and our district is comprised of the following communities: Machesney Park, Loves Park, Roscoe, and some Boone County and Rockford residents.

Our service desks are busy and we take pride in our deep materials collection, reliable computers and printers, innovative programs, and going the "extra mile" for our patrons. Many generations of families have called our library their second home.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• staffing the Adult Services Desk to help all levels of library users find materials and information in the library
• assisting with public computer use (mobile printing, eBooks, email, scanning, MS Office, and social media),
• and collection development.

MLS degree is preferred. One year of public library work experience preferred. Working at both library locations (Loves Park and Roscoe) is required. Working one evening and 1 Saturday per month required. Strong customer service skills, communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work as a team member, and strong technology skills a must. Ability to consistently work scheduled hours a must. Has own means of transportation a must.

Salary range $15.45-$23.00 per hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
