Job Title: School Age Child Site Supervisor
Reports to: Director of School Age Child Care
Location:Sun Prairie
Classification: Full-time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of School Age Child Care, the School Age Child Care Site Supervisor assists with the development and coordination of safe and engaging quality licensed child care programs. This position is responsible for program management and compliance of assigned child care program(s) in accordance with the YMCA mission, strategic plan, goals and all policies and procedures of the YMCA of Dane County, Inc. and when applies, accreditation standards of the City of Madison and YoungStar, licensing standards of the State of Wisconsin, and the YUSA Child Care Best Practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees the program development, management and quality control of a designated licensed child care program site(s).
Implements developmentally appropriate program curriculum and coordinates supplies for designated program(s).
Assures compliance with accreditation, licensing and YMCA program standards when applicable. Ensures accountability, safety, quality and consistency. Maintains proper records/department files.
Facilitates socialization, participation and interaction of all participants through active involvement in safe, fun and developmentally appropriate activities; provides adaptations based on individual needs and utilizes positive behavior guidance techniques with participants.
Knows and understands child care programs, department policies and emergency procedures and is able to clearly explain said information to members.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with state child care licensing agency, city accreditation, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
Assists at other child care sites when needed as determined by supervisor or Director of Child Care.
Supports, participates and promotes employee, volunteer and member engagement in the Annual Campaign and other fundraising activities.
Actively participates and/or serves in a leadership role for identified Association and Branch activities and special events.
Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Registry Level 12 or higher and 50 or fewer certification, or Registry Level 14 and 51 or more certification required upon hire. Certification need dependent on location.
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
At least one year related experience in administration and providing guidance to staff and/or volunteers is required.
At least six months experience in licensed child care as a teacher required.
Knowledge of general child growth and development, learning theories, and developmentally appropriate activities for children required.
Knowledge of state licensing, city accreditation and Youngstar rules and requirements preferred.
Must demonstrate initiative, strong leadership skills, and have ability and experience providing guidance to staff with a variety of educational and experiential backgrounds.
Must possess reliable transportation for travel when required.
Must possess and maintain within the indicated timeframe:

CPR/AED and First Aid training within 30 days of start date.
YOrientation, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Epi Pen, and Shaken Baby Syndrome training within 60 days of start date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children’s activities.
May require the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of times.
May require the ability to lift, carry, and load equipment, furnishings and program supplies.
A physical exam report and TB test must be completed and on file within two weeks of start date.
Requires the ability to organize, prioritize and manage tasks without direct supervision.
Works requires the ability to travel to and from various locations.
Work may be completed in an office setting and may include the frequent use of a computer and other office machinery.
