Salary Grade:NC18 Salary Range :$58,294 - $102,015

Position serves as a lead analyst in the Classification and Compensation Unit. Position is an advanced classification analyst for the Department. Answers questions for other analysts, directs the analysts on possible courses of action, and provides assistance for classification actions that are non-routine and/or proving problematic for lower level analysts. Position serves on committees and attends meetings for manager. Position develops internal and external training for unit staff and field personnel technicians. Position is responsible for producing departmental reports for projects and requests received. Position provides analysis for complex, controversial position actions that may have no internal comparisons. Position determines if documentation submitted is sufficient, conducts analysis of position, makes comparisons to other positions, and makes decision on appropriate action. Position independently develops study plan, strategy and timeframes to ensure that all issues and problems are addressed and that study plan is manageable. Position meets independently with management and OSHR staff to present recommendations for position allocations, concepts, and salary grade levels, which normally requires negotiation. Position will work extensively on OSHR Statewide Classification and Compensation Program development and implementation, including developing new classifications for the Department and leading Subject Matter Expert Groups as program is implemented.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Experience completing studies related to organizational management
  • Experience in the field of job evaluation, classification analysis, compensation analysis and organizational analysis including the development of recommendations and detailed analysis reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide short and long term goals and implementing programs/projects
  • Experience with design, restructuring and classification for a wide variety of classifications covering various occupational groups
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to write and develop analytical reports

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
