The Agropur Graduate participates in Agropur’s specialized, two-year program designed to provide a strong skill set and preparation to more effectively lead people, understand Agropur’s business processes, develop business acumen, and successfully deal with challenges that arise in the marketplace.

The Agropur Graduate program consists of four rotations of approximately six months each.
Typical rotations consist of:
  • Functional – focuses on what the Future Leader has studied in school and provides opportunities to utilize what was learned in a practical, real-world environment.
  • Business Acumen – focuses on understanding Agropur’s business by working in various departments and locations.
  • Leadership – focuses on leading a team or project.
  • Glide path – the final rotation which prepares the Future Leader to step into their chosen career path.

Specific duties and responsibilities vary with each rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Learn and utilize Agropur’s mission, values and strategic pillars to contribute to the success of the Organization.
  • Successfully learn and utilize a variety of the field concepts, practices and procedures to increase confidence in planning and accomplishing goals as a leader.
  • Maintain compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
  • Attend regularly scheduled leadership development training.
  • Gain experience in leadership, team development and employee management.
  • Within each functional area/rotation:
    • Ensure a high quality of customer service.
    • Perform a variety of complicated tasks.
    • Successfully gain understanding of specific roles.
    • Plan methods to improve efficiency/production.
    • Assist in day to day operations.
    • Assist in the development and improvement of operations and procedures.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:
Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Manufacturing, Production and Operations Management, Engineering or related field required.
Experience Required:
  • Internship in a Dairy Manufacturing, Production and Operations Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Certification/Licensure Required:
  • None
Skills Required:
  • Effectively operate/use equipment, tools and systems to accomplish assigned tasks and duties
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • High level of leadership skills including strategic thinking, fostering teamwork, cultivating relationships, and demonstrable experience leading teams through change.
  • Knowledge in business acumen, understanding of current and future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the organization, familiarity with the competition, and comprehension of how strategies work in marketplace.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with executives, managers, colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.
