POSITION SUMMARY:

As an integral part of The Galloway School’s Development team and the Galloway community, the

Alumni and Community Connections Manager will help the Development team increase the capacity of

fundraising by executing and growing a comprehensive engagement program that enhances

relationships with key constituencies. Reporting to the Director of Development, this individual will

provide broad support in various key areas as a friend-raiser and a fundraiser.

Primary responsibilities will include the creation and oversight of a multi-faceted program of events,

activities, and communications intended to increase and enhance alumni, alumni parent, and

grandparent engagement. This position will play an active team role in ensuring that development and

engagement initiatives align with Galloway’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, detail oriented and creative, with strong

communication skills. This individual must be able to work both independently and collaboratively with

team members and the external community. Strong project management skills and accountability in

meeting deadlines and juggling multiple projects is essential. The ability to communicate effectively and

engage with a variety of individuals is key to the success of this role.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop a strategic plan for consistent meaningful connections with Galloway’s alumni,

alumni parent, and grandparent communities, working with the Development and

Marketing and Communications teams to enhance engagement, participation, and giving

• Plan and implement a robust calendar of special events throughout the year for each group

including reunion activation locally and nationally

• Manage annual plan for outreach communications to alumni, alumni parents, and

grandparents in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team including quarterly

newsletters and social media management

• Oversee the alumni database and update class notes and biographical updates in Raiser’s Edge

• Serve as a liaison to the Alumni and Alumni Parent Advisory group(s)

• Provide relevant professional opportunities for alumni connections across industries and

locations

• Coordinate alumni and alumni parent volunteer recruitment

• Educate graduating students and parents on the Alumni Association and senior class giving

Qualifications:

• Team player with a positive attitude and collaborative approach

• Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, Google platforms, and email marketing

• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands

• Strong initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities

• Must be able to work in an environment of constant demands and frequent interruptions

• Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working

• Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral, and presentation) and relate well to parents,

• Strong problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required
  

Experience:

• At least two years of related work experience,

preferably in an independent school setting
