Job Description:
We are looking for a Merch Planning Analyst to join our team to offer data-driven solutions to problems posed by stakeholders across the company, and provide insights informing Wayfair’s brand launch calendar, style roadmap, and merchandising strategies. Our work is technically challenging, high-impact, and heavily relied upon for strategic decision-making. This role provides significant exposure to senior leadership, and top performers will have opportunities to work with each of the Exclusive Brands and Specialty Retail Brands workgroups and a variety of cross-functional partners.
What You'll Do:
- Partner with our merchant and brand teams to comprehend, extract, and automate processes from complex data sources including sales, funnel, operations, and product to deliver business insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
- Develop, distribute, and maintain scalable self-service tools and dashboards that align with broader departmental goals, allowing cross-functional partners to access data and identify meaningful insights
- Forge strong relationships with key partners to surface corrective action on departmental challenges and anomalies detected in the existing Flagship Brand and Specialty Brand assortments
- Drive root cause analysis/reporting on operational issues, developing action plans and project managing improvements
- Contribute to the strategy for priority initiatives and lead implementation to drive results
Skills to Win:
- Knowledge of SQL/Google Big Query, including writing and executing queries
- Experience using Excel/Google Sheets to manipulate data, including use of PivotTables
- Experience in data visualization
- Python or other programing a plus but not required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- BA in business, operations, or a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, etc.)
