Job description
JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Learn all different positions including but not limited to Animal Care Technician, Doggy Daycamp Counselor, Customer Service Representative and perform any of these tasks as needed to help with maintaining labor within the center
· Hire and train all Doggy Daycare Counselors and Animal Care Technicians
· Manage care of boarding pets which includes administering medication and calling clients with any pet related concerns
· Maximize occupancy by preplanning and managing boarding suites
· Order food and boarding supplies as needed
· Perform basic repairs in boarding areas
· Assist with all cleaning, feeding and exercising duties
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Must possess a love of pets
· Must have previous pet and supervisory experience
· Must have strong communication skills.
· Ability to think clearly and quickly to resolve problems.
· Ability to multi-task and work with high volume in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work with a variety of dogs and cats
· Good time management skills
· Recognizes pet health concerns
· Understands the basics of business management
· Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
· Displays a professional manner at all times.
· Good, basic computer skills; Excel and Word
· Community outreach
· Basic knowledge of budget and labor planning
· Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to frequently lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Must be able to work on computer system.
- Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
- Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation
chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
Education:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience:
· Experience in Restaurant or Retail Management, Hospitality, Customer Service Animal care or Veterinary a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
