AFRL/RYMF Multiband Multifunction RF Sensing Branch seeks to hire Mid-Level DR-02, at their current level, Antenna Research Engineer.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plans, organizes, conducts, and implements highly complex basic and applied research in the areas of electromagnetic (EM) target/clutter scattering, signal processing, electrically small and broadband antennas, single and multiple element arrays. This includes identifying research objectives, developing research plans and budgets, and executing, analyzing, and reporting research findings through journal publications, conference presentations, conference proceedings, patent applications and government technical reports.
  • Uses innovative approaches to solve multi-faceted issues. As an electronics engineer, generates and/or applies key ideas, theories, principles, practical concepts, processes, and systems related to antenna and EM phenomenology. Performs daily research and development (R&D) and test and evaluation (T&E) research by applying experience in theoretical development and modeling and simulation (M&S).
  • Expertise is recognized internally and externally by government, industry, and academia.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the OPM Standard Qualifications for an 0855 Electronics Engineer, https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/0800/electronics-engineering-series-0855/
  • Masters in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Familiarity with HFSS, FEKO, or CST
  • Experience with Antenna Array Design
  • Be a US Citizen
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position requiring Level/Tier 2 (Practitioner) Non-Critical certification in Engineering & Technical Management (N); experience requirement is 4 years; and the selectee will have 60-months to meet APDP requirements or a waiver must be obtained. *Applicants must list all completed APDP certifications on their resume.
  • Position is eligible for situational telework and will require routine mission travel, regular classified engagements, and in-person meetings that cannot always be scheduled around a regular/recurring telework schedule. Employee must live within the commuting area of Wright-Patterson AFB.

Desired Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in C++/C#
  • Familiarity with VHDL/FPGA algorithms
  • Experience with performing antenna measurements
  • Familiarity with RFSoCs and Radar hardware
  • Familiarity with Radar Systems
