Job description
This position assists and provides analysis and technical support of an Enterprise-Level application software system. Provides management analysis and recommendations to improve and enhance business processes for the purpose of supporting school district technology needs.
- HOURS PER DAY: 8
- YEAR-ROUND POSITION (260 DAYS / 12 MONTHS)
- ANTICIPATED START DATE: ASAP
- Benefits-Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.

SALARY: Level 4 on the Exempt Technical Salary Schedule. Salary depends on experience in the same or similar position. Promotion or transfer placements will be determined by percentage of increase and consideration of appropriate experience credit.
1. Serve as a team member in the analysis and support of user requirements, system setup and maintenance, development of ad-hoc reports and queries, and ongoing implementation of new releases and modules of an enterprise-level application software system.
2. Analyze and implement minor and/or major computer system functions/applications including new program version testing to ensure proper implementation, maintenance of user documentation, assist in the implementation of new software functions and capabilities.
3. Analyze and design system configuration to accommodate needed District business functions, addressing potential integration issues with other functional areas as well as integration with other applications.
4. Develop and implement high-level database queries and reports necessary to determine and maintain system and data integrity, interoperability, and perform trouble isolation/ resolution. Perform back-end data extractions and manipulation using various tools.
5. Analyze and review user requirements and communicate user needs with software vendor either verbally or in written specifications.
6. Provide end-user training and support of software application modules and functions.
7. Be knowledgeable of and assist in the development of various Technology Services Department software standards. Support School Support Services in organizational planning, scheduling, integration of cross-department business processes.
8. Provide technical assistance and guidance to all School Support Services department staff in the use of the applications software, utilities, and functions.
9. Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations as necessary to support the applications software and to communicate progress, problems and/or solutions to various individuals.
10. Analyze and diagnose software problems reported by users and develop solutions and/or appropriate actions. Troubleshoot system issues directly with vendor and secure bug fixes, test changes, and implement revisions.
11. Ensure the ongoing integrity and performance of the supported software system.
12. Have familiarity with how cloud systems are deployed securely, efficiently, while maintaining system architecture and design.
13. Have familiarity with efficient, functioning data storage and process functions in accordance with district security policies and best practices in cloud and on-premise security.
1. Demonstrated ability and aptitude to perform the responsibilities listed.
2. B.A. degree or four or more years of successful college education in related or applicable fields preferred; equivalent work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
3. Three or more years of experience required working with large-scale applications software.
4. Three or more years of increasingly responsible experience required in applications programming and/or systems analysis experience and relational data base management and SQL query development.
5. Three or more years of experience required developing reports using a report writer software package.
6. Ability to analyze requirements and recommend solutions.
7. Ability to troubleshoot complex applications and determine appropriate corrective action.
8. Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
9. Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, end-users, and vendors.
10. Ability to organize activities, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
11. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and documentation.
12. Ability to develop and deliver user workshops and training activities.
13. Comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.
14. Physical ability to use computer hardware and software required.
15. Ability to work on occasion outside of the typical 8 AM – 5 PM workday.
16. Ability to maintain data confidentiality and perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements.
17. Demonstrated successful experience developing and maintaining positive and professional working relationships with a diverse group to people in a confidential manner.
18. Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

When employees meet plan requirements and retire, they are guaranteed a monthly benefit for the rest of their life from the employer-funded pension.
- Employees can also participate in voluntary savings programs to increase retirement savings such as the DRS Deferred Compensation Program or by participating in a 403(b) retirement plan through the District’s plan manager, OMNI.
