We are seeking candidates with an extensive hands-on experimental background in many of the following areas:

  • Optical Diagnostics:

‒ Characterizing the products of combustion in high pressure, high temperature environments by applying/developing active (e.g. laser absorption) and passive (e.g. emission spectroscopy) optical diagnostics: UV – Long Wave IR.
‒ Experience with tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy or wavelength modulation spectroscopy.

  • Chemical Kinetics: 1) Application of experimental methods to measure reaction rates and 2) Applying chemical kinetic analysis to elucidate reaction mechanisms.
  • Molecular Beams: Crossed molecular beam experiments to characterize the products of hyperthermal interactions.
  • Design and/or application of Microwave/RF plasma sources to materials processing.
  • Spectroscopic Simulations: Application and/or development spectroscopic simulation tools to determine the molecular source of observed signatures.

Prior demonstrated experience in applied spectroscopy is required. Candidates should have an extensive background in performing experiments and analyzing data and have a strong record of technical leadership documented by a record of peer-reviewed technical publications.
