VHC Health is excited to announce the opening of an Outpatient Pavilion June 2023! The Outpatient Rehabilitation team will be moving to this new, state of the art building, which will include a brand new aquatic program. Our pool is the HydroWorx 750 in ground model with a treadmill, video monitoring with front and side views, resistance jets, and a quick water depth adjustment feature. Whether you have aquatic experience or not, if you are interested in aquatic therapy, we would like to talk with you. Our patient population will include those with varied diagnoses such as orthopedic, spine, neurological, chronic pain and connective tissue disorders.

Our aquatic therapists will be part of a large, interdisciplinary team that values continual learning and evidence based practice. Specialty rounds are consistently scheduled for therapists to meet for article reviews to collaborate, discuss interesting cases, provide support, learn further techniques as a group and stay up-to-date with today’s advancements. Another factor that adds to the team’s success is that we have a solid onboarding process, which includes a new hire mentorship program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Uses evidence based practice, synthesizes data, interprets findings, diagnoses dysfunction, and develops treatment plan to maximize health and functional gains.
• Writes clear and defensible documentation consistent with facility specific standards that articulates clinical decision-making and skill of the therapist.
• Accepts responsibility for effective two-way communication using clear and well-organized oral and written techniques.
• Always exhibits friendliness, respect, courtesy, and concern for each patient, staff member and visitor with the highest degree of professional demeanor and behavior.
• Is supportive and open-minded toward change understanding that change is a constant in healthcare.
