How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The primary function of this job is to advise and direct the manufacture and distribution of packaged and bulk gas plants in an assigned area. Responsible for coordination of maintenance, safety, compliance, capital expenditures and Operations budgeting for the assigned area. This position will also work with branch locations that fill various types of cylinders to ensure consistency across the region and assist Region Branch Operation Managers in filling and distribution processes.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) compliance
  • Partner with DOT, Safety and other internal departments to ensure safety and regulatory compliance including but not limited to DOT, FDA, DHS, OSHA, SMA, PSM, RMP
  • Conduct regular site reviews and audits to ensure all company programs and procedures are being followed
  • Direct site on developing, delivering and tracking consistent in regulatory training programs for plant associates
  • Track operations metrics at each plant to set goals and track performance against set standards
  • Review production orders and schedules to obtain product data such as types, quantities, specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan efficient and cost effective operations that meet customers’ product needs, customer satisfaction, and appropriate management of cylinder assets, vehicles and pallets
  • Conduct regular safety meetings with plant associates at various locations to ensure consistent safety message is getting delivered to all levels of the organization
  • Provide operations assistance and support to Plant Managers, Plant Associates and Area Branch filling locations to ensure consistent production and distribution of product
  • Resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and minimum delays
  • Compiles, stores, and analyzes production data and makes adjustments so that customer needs are met and customers are retained
  • Researches and stays current on best practices and disseminates that information down and across the organization to ensure best practices are recognized and embraced in the production environment at all levels of the organization
    • Areas of research include but are not limited to safety, operations, regulatory compliance, internal requirements, operations efficiencies, proper equipment procurement and preventative maintenance processes
  • Ability to travel to various sites throughout the region up to 80% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree and ten to 15 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience
  • Also required is a thorough knowledge of the following areas:
    • compliance with applicable federal/state regulations,
    • gases and related hardgoods
    • truck and trailer loading limits and placarding
    • cylinder markings, test dates,
    • pressure ratings,
    • hazardous material classifications,
    • DOT driver qualifications and record keeping
    • vehicle purchasing and maintenance requirements
    • accident reporting
    • safety and compliance
  • Computer literacy including MS Office Suite – Solid Excel experience
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience, demonstrated ability to effectively manage a wide array of personnel issues
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to drive and walk considerable distances on a daily basis (5-100 miles per day) – travel up to 80% of the time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention detail
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, report and present data
  • Proven ability prioritizing and completing multiple tasks
  • Moderate to excellent public speaking skills
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical solutions
  • Ability to read speaks, write, spell and understand the English language
  • Very strong PC and CU skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management expectations
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and background.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by company.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Has the ability to analyze, read, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Is able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Is able to communicate in standard business style and grammar. Has the ability to effectively present information to region management, public groups, and current or potential customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Understands mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences. Has the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Is able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Is able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
