As an Assembly Quality Engineer,you will spend the majority of your time (80% or more) engaging with the shop floor team to provide tactical support of the assembly operation, investigating, and performing root cause analysis on manufacturing/supplier quality issues, troubleshooting tool/gauge/fixture issues, driving closed loop corrective action, and supporting the John Deere Continuous Improvement (CI) process. In addition, you will:
· Support daily production operations by responding to tactical safety, quality, efficiency, and manufacturing issues by supporting/leading performance/process improvements for the team.
· Support investigations and corrective action(s) related to a variety of manufacturing issues (parts, tooling, equipment, etc.) in a timely and effective manner.
· Manage non-conforming material for assigned work area(s)
· Support the John Deere Continuous Improvement (CI) process.
· Support QIT (Quality Improvement Teams) for the OFP (Order Fulfillment Process) quality team assigned for quality activities and resolution of issues.
· Execute the established quality control plans and create and update PFMEAs (Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for work centers.
What Skills You Need
· 1-3 years of experience in supporting shop floor/manufacturing operations
· Working knowledge of basic assembly tooling and equipment
· Direct experience with drawing and schematic interpretation, product models, and GD&T
· Knowledge of standard quality tools such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, 3 Legged 5 Why
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to communicate cross functionally with both salary and wage workforce.
· Ability to work flexible hours and over time as needed.
What Makes You Stand Out
Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:
· Direct experience working with the John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT)
· 1+ years of experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, reliability, design, manufacturing, quality.
· 1+ years of experience with engineering tools, systems, and databases.
· 1+ years of experience in use of statistical tools and techniques for quality management.
· 1+ years of experience working with SAP.
· Knowledge of product, customer, markets, and competitors.
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
· Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience
