Assembly Technician

Roles: Under general supervision, performs manual labor along a production line, operates and controls production line machinery, secures all parts to manufactured equipment as required to complete harvesting and manufacturing processes as required by design prints and customer production order. Will report to a team lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, read, and understand complex design specifications
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure proper delineation of production roles
  • Assemble various parts and products based on physical and digital designs
  • Operate design machinery and modify machinery settings as needed to meet design specifications
  • Operate power tools and other heavy machinery while following strict safety guidelines
  • Communicate with engineers and design staff to ensure consistency and troubleshoot any issues with designs or production
  • Quickly and effectively detect malfunctions with machinery and inform managers or upper-level staff of issues as they arise
  • Travel to different locations to work with various teams and engineering staff when necessary
  • Inspect, operate, and test complete products to verify functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.
  • Position or align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints or specifications manuals, and plan assembly or building operations.
  • Fasten or install piping fixtures or wiring and electrical components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet funs, or welding equipment.
  • Remove rough spots and smooth surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts using hand tools or power tools,
  • Lay out and drill, ream, tap, or cut parts for assembly.

Skills:

  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem- solving and decision-making.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Uses hand tools, jibs, fixtures and miscellaneous power tools and equipment.

Job Description:

  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Analyzing needs and product requirements.
  • Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
  • Managing one’s own time.
  • Communication with other people is required as part of this job.
  • Good body positioning due to the amount of time the worker will spend in a variety of physical positions on this job.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
