POSITION TITLE: Assistant Band Director / Elem Music Teacher

LOCATION: Flatonia Secondary / Flatonia Elementary

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with FISD Teacher Pay Schedule

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 187 days (+15 Days) – 202 Total

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences

designed to help them fulfill their potential for academic success

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College

Experience: Successful classroom teaching experience preferred, but not mandatory

Licenses/Other: Hold valid Texas Teaching Certificate:

Music EC-12 or other applicable certification

Must have, or willing to obtain, CDL license

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES: 

Knowledge of overall operation of instrumental music program 

Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the Texas Essential
Knowledge and Skills 

Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency 

Must be familiar with classroom management techniques 

Maintain all records and documentation required by TEA and local administration 

Work cooperatively and constructively with other faculty, staff and administration 

Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration
