Job Overview:
Assistant Branch Managers train, coach and develop associates in multiple positions to ensure customers receive excellent service and can easily find the materials they need. In addition, they are responsible for day-to-day operations of the store when the Branch Manager is off/away. This position requires proficiency with computers, point of sale systems, and inventory management. Assistant Branch Managers must have strong product knowledge and the ability to lead and develop others.
Job Roles & Responsibilities:
Assistant Manager will assist Branch Manager in all aspects of operating the location, including but not limited to:
- Assist Branch Manager with overseeing retail counter and yard duties
- Responsible for all duties when Manager is away from location
- Maintain store/yard appearance & product presentation
- Meet and greet customers; troubleshoot all customer issues and concerns
- Open store following SWB’s opening and closing procedures
- Review and reconcile daily close-outs; report to Branch Manager
- Manage petty cash, submitting receipts for all purchases
- Review equipment checklist, schedule equipment maintenance, report equipment failures
- Input all numbers into P&L daily. Send daily recap
- Assist in maintaining appropriate inventory levels; Request orders for yard inventory
- Must be product expert on all lines
- Process incoming shipments following SWB’s receiving procedures
- Conduct bi-monthly safety meetings with retail and yard staff
- Identify potential safety issues and recommend corrective action
- Ensure incidents are investigated, reports are completed with proper documentation and photos’
- Work with Purchasing Agent to conduct daily/weekly inventory counts
- Train new hires as well as progressive training on all current and new product lines
- Daily/Weekly sales review with retail and yard staff
- Create & implement specials, promotions, etc. with Operation Manager’s approval along with Branch Manager, conduct bi-monthly safety meetings
- Work with Branch Manager & Operation’s Manager to establish annual retail sales goals
- Assist with annual Performance Reviews
- Daily briefing meeting with staff discussing the day’s sales plan and expectations Daily/Weekly quote follow-up
- Ability to learn and operate forklifts (we can train you!!!).
- Loader and Small Equipment Experience Preferred
