MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a private, liberal arts university with a variety of undergraduate, graduate and adult education programs, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Job Summary
The Assistant for Academic Records is an integral member of the Registrar’s Office team and assists with the administrative functions of academic records, information management, and registration services for programs offered by the University. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Academic Records and Information Management Services
- Evaluates and articulates transfer work for all incoming and current students in preparation for entry in the Banner SIS.
- Evaluate and process paperwork for all incoming advanced standing credits, such as CLEP, AP, and Straighterline.
- Assist with various office functions and data entry duties, including grade changes, course drops/additions, demographic information, and learner records, as back-up for the Enrollment Program Assistant.
Registration Administration and Support
- Assist with registration activities.
- Assist with Banner set up and administration of all programs.
Office, Administrative and Support Services
- Assist with commencement weekend and Pioneer Day activities and preparations.
- Responsible for National Student Clearinghouse processing, advanced registration, Degree Verify, and manual status updates. Maintains the NSC Transcript Processing workflows, testing, and updates.
- Provide back-up customer service with phones and office walk-ins as needed.
- Provide students, faculty, staff, and other University constituencies with the best possible customer service, support, advise and facilitation within the guidance of the Registrar and Associate Registrars with the focus on interactions with constituencies that demonstrate care, sensitivity, excellence, and follow-through.
- Manage and process all incoming transcripts from NSC and Parchment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Registrar in consultation with the Associate Registrars.
- Adheres to the AACRAO Principles of Professional Ethics and Practice.

Education and/or Experience:
- Previous higher education work experience preferred;
- Baccalaureate degree required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a normal office setting. Travel between buildings on campus is required; occasional weekend and evening work during given periods and travel to other locations for training can be expected i.e. conferences, etc. Deadlines, disturbances of workflow, and/or irregularities in work schedule are expected and occur on an intermittent basis.
