JOB DESCRIPTION-ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER
POSITION TITLE: Assistant Store Manager
REPORTS TO: Store Manager
DEPARTMENT: Direct to Consumer - Outlet Stores

- Proven Sales Performance and ability to assist Store Manager in driving store team to achieve Sales
Objectives
- Management experience of 3 to 5 years in specialty retail (apparel or women's intimate apparel preferred).
- Proven background and aptitude in exceptional, individual customer service.
- Strong merchandising and display skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle diverse, demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong supervisory skills.
Education:
- Completion of High School.
- College degree a plus.
Hours:
- 40 Hours per week
- Holidays and Weekends as necessitated by peak customer traffic
- Limited Overtime as necessary (peak selling periods, scheduling demands)
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Under direction of Store Manager lead a branded retail business that generates superior retail returns and provides America’s best brands in intimate apparel. Supervise the store team to achieve sales objectives, leading store team in all store activities, maintaining store policy and procedures, and assuming responsibility for the operations and merchandising functions of the store.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Sales Performance – Achieve store sales objectives supported by monthly promotional activities, sales training, and bra fits service.
Customer Service – Provide customers with outstanding service by training all employees on proper service techniques.
Store Operations - Supervise store personnel in all phases of store activities to ensure proper store operation. Assume responsibilities for budget control, shrink, overall operation and merchandise presentation within the store. Responsible for taking annual physical inventory.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES CONTINUED:
Purchasing - Procurement of selected basic stock products to be marketed through the store with approval of Merchandise Manager.
Merchandising - Insure that all merchandise is displayed and merchandised properly, keep Merchandise
Managers informed of out-of-stock, slow sellers and problem merchandise.
Human Resources - Recruit, select and train store staff. Evaluate team member job performance per established guidelines. Ensure adequate staffing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Assistant Store Manager will frequently walk, bend, and reach. He/she will occasionally sit, stand, climb (ex. ladder), stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, turn, twist, push and pull. He/she will occasionally flex and extend fingers such as running a register or using an adding machine.
Lifting - Seventy percent of the objects are under twenty-five pounds, twenty-nine percent are twenty-five to forty-nine pounds and one percent is fifty pounds or over.
Carrying - Ninety percent of the objects are under twenty-five pounds, and ten percent are twenty-five to forty-nine pounds.
Vision - Must be able to read the print on a product package, and use a monitor and keyboard. Be able to recognize physical conditions in the store (For example: aisles, walkways, storage racks, fixtures, file cabinets).
Hearing/Speaking - Must be able to communicate by hearing/talking with a customer, or giving direction to a Customer Assistant. Must be able to receive direction through an intercom or bell. A moderate amount of time is spent in verbal communications.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
An Assistant Manager will occasionally work with his/her hands in water and be exposed to dust and solvents (cleaning supplies). He/she will occasionally drive a car to the bank. He/she will occasionally be exposed to slippery or uneven walking surfaces. He/she will occasionally be exposed to unusual fatigue factors if a Manager is on vacation/medical leave. He/she will occasionally work alone when opening the store. He/she will frequently work in close proximity to others when working in the office or running a register. An Assistant Manager will consistently work inside and occasionally outside.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
A substantial amount of decision making is involved in an Assistant Managers position. An intermediate amount of reasoning in problem solving is required. A considerable amount of planning and scheduling is required. A low amount of gathering, classifying or arranging of information or data in some meaningful order or form is required. An intermediate amount of transcribing is used. A low amount of short term memory is required.
