PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Manage, direct and develop the production department.
  • Set department objectives/KPIs and review, assess and report ongoing performance.
  • Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) using appropriate data analysis.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the daily/weekly/monthly manufacturing targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality (ART-4S) and delivery expectations, minimizing labor and premium freight costs due to production delays.
  • Drive plant profitability goals by ensuring manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement cost-effective systems to control manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Manage and lead the production department, ensuring adequate staffing levels, managing time off allowances, assist with recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, disciplinary issues, safety and department supervision.
  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing leadership team that meets manufacturing targets while driving efficiency, quality and safety objectives.
  • Promote and drive 4S shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant and personnel.
  • Ensure all operational and production specific documentation is maintained internally and externally.
  • Work as part of the leadership team, attending meetings, supporting customer visits and assisting with internal and external audits.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Tier One or Tier Two Production Supervision Experience Manufacturing
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of automotive OEM structure (Ford, Honda, GM, Nissan and others)
  • Experience managing 150 employees or more
  • Ability to analyze problems, work independently as well as in a team environment, and organize and execute multiple tasks
  • Ability to communicate well with excellent oral and written skills. (Japanese language, a plus)
  • Proficient in standard MS office PC/software applications. Knowledge of MRP Plex (a plus)
  • ISO/TS 16949 working knowledge/experience
  • Familiarity with T1 automotive operations to include; EDI, ASN, MRP, 8D, 6S, Poke Yokes, TS-16949 certs, and other management tools is a plus.
