Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Merchandise Planning, the Assistant Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing and communicating plans that drive sales, maximize profitability and ensure inventory productivity. This position will collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Merchandise Planning and team to define and evolve key Merchandise Planning processes, including open-to-buy forecasting, annual budgeting, seasonal buy planning, and business reporting. The ideal candidate will be a student of the business with a desire to drive change and re-imagine ways of working in a growth environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Merchant team in forecasting sales, margin, receipts, and inventory to reflect trends and shifts in the business
  • Develop seasonal buy plans and assortment strategies, ensuring alignment between unit and financial strategies and ensuring execution through on order tracking
  • Partner with Merchant team to develop and execute key business decisions, including markdowns, flow strategies, promo buys for key events and ad hoc analysis
  • Manage company open-to-buy reports, ensuring accuracy of data and transparency of strategies
  • Provide analysis and compelling recaps on business performance, key events and seasons
  • Drive change and re-imagine ways of working in a growth environment
  • Anticipate business needs and be proactive in developing processes and calendars to keep teams on track
  • Train teams on the strategic use of reporting and tools to influence the business
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Merchant Team, Inventory Management, Finance and Operations Teams.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or prior work experience
  • 1-2 years of multi-store planning/allocation experience
  • Advanced MS Excel Required; MS Office Products
  • English fluency both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills


Preferred:

  • In depth experience with Microsoft Excel functions (V-lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience in inventory management, allocation, replenishment, and/or planning
  • Familiarity with planning/inventory management programs


The expected pay range is $20.80 - $28.48. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
