Job Title: Assistant Program Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ or remote


The After Market Service (AMS) Group is the ultimate turnkey organization providing comprehensive solutions for those refrigeration challenges and needs you have today or might face in the future. Whether your world is a supermarket, multi-store chain with refrigerated products, a convenience store, or any of a wide variety of industrial applications. Start-to-finish development, coordination and installation of refrigeration projects and programs of any size or complexity.


What we’re looking for:


We are looking for an Assistant Program Manager who will support Program Management leadership team on planning, development, implementation, and progress tracking of a specific or multiple customer program/rollout in Refrigeration trade. The Assistant Program Manager focus will be on supporting key performance objectives like customer support, quality, safety, effective scheduling, estimation, training, and management to provide outstanding services to the customers. Also to assist Program Management team on several project/program related tasks.


What you’ll be responsible for in this role:


  • Assist in managing new or existing multi-million-dollar programs for new and existing clients and targeted revenue stream for AMS and DFR.
  • Lead small programs and/or specific tasks assigned on program level to support program development team and customers on multi-store rollouts. Typically, a specific project size can vary from $4K to $1M financially.
  • Understand the entire scope of the project.
  • Create a detailed project scope of work (SOW) which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
  • Sourcing bids from Refrigeration contractors for SOW.
  • Develop a cost budget to meet estimated margin for SOW.
  • Develop a schedule for Project Managers (PMs) that effectively allocates the resources for the SOW.
  • Review the SOW, cost budget and Project Management schedule with Program Manager and all other staff that will be affected by the project; revise as required.
  • Prepare presentations, trackers, and forecasts for DFR segments as requested/needed.
  • Participate in daily, weekly, or monthly teleconferences with customer/internal partners.
  • Prepare SOW and Project Quotes for Sales Team to present to customer as needed.
  • Meets or exceed financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, identifying and implementing efficiencies, analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Assist with enhancing client relationship through proactive and positive communication, and by recognizing and delivering on client key issues and expectations.
  • Assist with client relationship and recognize future business opportunities.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned
  • Be able to travel 10% to 20% of work time.


What are the basic qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Project Management, Installation or Services experience in Refrigeration/ HVAC industry.


What are the preferred qualifications?


  • BA or BS degree (Construction Project Management, Mechanical or Engineering).
  • Minimum of 2+ years reading and understanding refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.
  • Minimum of 2+ years estimating and developing scope of work of Refrigeration projects.

Physical Demands:


  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools or controls, and telephone to talk and hear; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stop, crouch, and kneel.
  • The employee will be required to travel to job sites and climb stairs to access roofs, climb ladders and lifts to inspect equipment on heights.
  • Occasionally, the employee may have to lift and/or move objects up to 15 lbs. Vision requirements include close, color and peripheral vision.


Work Environment:


  • While on jobsites, this person must adhere to company and OSHA safety guidelines and protocols. May be required to wear personal protective equipment.
