Assistant Restaurant Manager Needed At The Hermitage Inn

The Hermitage Inn https://www.thehermitageinnvermont.com/ & the Schlow Restaurant Group (SRG) https://www.schlowrg.com/ seek creative, experienced Restaurant Managers of all levels to join the team and be part of the leadership and operation of the restaurant at the world class Hermitage Inn on 65 acres in West Dover, Vermont.

The perfect applicant will be even tempered, have a strong dedication to excellence, a predisposition to serve, have superior teaching capabilities, be creative, possess superior skills and leadership qualities, and have a strong work ethic. The candidate should have strong computer skills and be able to work with Toast POS, Tock Reservations, and 7shifts. Training will be provided for candidates that are new to these systems.

Requirements include:


  • 2+ years of management experience at a high quality establishment

  • Excellent beverage and wine knowledge is a plus

  • An enthusiasm for hospitality and constantly striving for guest satisfaction

  • A positive attitude towards fellow employees, strong leadership skills and attention to detail and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Candidates should be highly organized and efficient

  • Excellent food and beverage knowledge

  • Flexible schedule (must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays)


Duties/Responsibilities include:


  • Oversees daily restaurant operations

  • Reports directly to the SRG team and the General Manager of the Inn.

  • Oversees all front of house employees to ensure all aspects of service and operations

  • Supports the back of the house team and chefs in maintaining the highest culinary standards

  • Creates a vigorous learning environment and guides professional development

  • Oversees organization, efficiency and policies pertaining to service in the dining room

  • Manages scheduling (7 Shifts), POS functionality (Toast) and reservation system

  • Maintains prime appearance and condition of the dining room and exterior of the restaurant


Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary (Based on Experience); Relocation Support
