PRIMARY PURPOSE:
It is the primary responsibility of the Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily operations, support the management team in achieving store goals, assist with the training and development of the staff, and ensure service standards consistently align with the department and property direction.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exhibit business acumen by reviewing store results to achieve financial success and store profitability.
Practice cost control procedures including shrinking and monitoring inventory levels.
Develop a highly engaged, valued, and effective team through the practice of observations, coaching, feedback sessions, and recognition.
Support continuous improvement by actively identifying new ways of doing things.
Deliver results by building strong relationships and following through with commitments.
Take ownership of store visual standards, merchandising expectations, and store/stockroom cleanliness
Achieve financial results, improve selling techniques, and increase store profitability.
Execute S.H.O.W. service basics to support the culture of the company, as well as provide excellent guest service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of related experience
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
PREFERRED:
Three (3) years of experience in retail, sales, or inventory control management
Previous retail management experience in a similar resort setting.
Working knowledge of MS Dynamics, Retail POS, or similar systems.
