A successful Assistant Store Team Leader engages the store team to deliver The Raley’s Way and achieve business results. They are able to create a memorable store experience through eye-catching displays, fresh products and deliver service that is unmatched. The Assistant Store Team Leader sets high standards for performance yet has fun, celebrates successes, develops and empowers a diverse team. Communicates the store/department vision and engages the team members through collaboration and innovative ideas. The ASTL uses their industry knowledge and expertise to achieve visual merchandising standards, center store performance and delivers safety/food safety results. They are responsible for the center store, receiving operation, sales performance, management of team members, merchandising standards/planning, policy and procedure compliance, safety, security, supervision, training, mentoring and any other duties as assigned.

The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual compensation offered to the selected individual(s) will depend on their relevant education, training, or experience, among other bona fide factors.
Expected Minimum Pay Rate: USD $64,000.00/Hr. Expected Maximum Pay Rate: USD $72,000.00/Hr. Responsibilities:
- Delivers budgeted center and overall store sales and profits; controls shrink, expenses and labor.
- Analyzes and measures business department/merchandising trends; develops and implements plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals/objectives.
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls all center store, replenishment and merchandising department activities and operations.
- Works cross-functionally with department heads in store planning and execution of ads, sales plans, inventory, displays and promotions.
- Manages department production and markdowns.
- Oversees and assists department team on all receiving reports.
- Performs appropriate inventory procedures to ensure accurate and timeline inventories.
- Understands and oversees compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, state and federal laws, company policies and procedures.
- Creates a customer-centric culture by recruiting, selecting and training team members who are passionate about food and serving others.
- Engages team members by bringing The Raley’s Way to life through inspiration and communication to include company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Establishes a high-performing team through effective scheduling, efficient task assignment, recognition, fun, performance management and accountability.
- Empowers team members to provide great customer experiences through helpful knowledge, friendly service and a caring approach.
- Recognizes and seeks opportunities for continuous learning to gain understandings, front end skills and knowledge
- Identifies and develops team members to leadership positions.
- Oversees, plans and directs (with store leadership team) to ensure floor is adequately stocked, has appropriate product adjacency and presentation.
- Establishes clear expectations of a clean and organized store. Teaches and trains store leadership and team members.
- Determines focus and delivers the visual plan appropriate to store’s needs; determines focus, theme and timeline of merchandising events.
- Utilizes store resources to market Raley’s unique products and service offerings.
- Ensure center store products are showcased and cross-merchandised.
- Delivers appropriate inventory planning and execution to deliver quality products.
- Maintains building and equipment to maximum operational condition.
- Owns the Store’s Safety and Food Safety Program; provides a safe environment by communicating, training and following key policies and procedures.
- Manages receiving operations, backroom flow, planning, vendor communication, security and organization.
- Acts as ambassador of the Something Extra Program for both customers and team members.
- Ensures store and department signage reflects accurate and clear pricing.
- Merchandises store to reflect value and positive price perception.
- Continually evaluates and reacts to market trends to include consumer behavior, competitor openings and closings.

- Ability to champion new ideas and initiatives.
- Ability to understand and assess the P&L and other store reports.
- Strong financial planning skills with a focus on long-term strategy.
