Assistant teacher
A Daycare Assistant Teacher assists and leads teachers in the care, supervision, and education of children in child daycare environments. Teach various activities to children. Daycare Assistant Teachers work with or under the supervision of licensed teachers to perform the following general duties:

  • Promote physical, mental, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Perform routine cleaning activities such as cleaning, sweeping floors, mopping and laundry.
  • Review learning material with children, either individually or in small groups, to help reinforce lessons presented by lead teachers
  • Always supervise children in class
  • Aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills to children
  • Assist in enforcing school and classroom rules
  • Assist with record keeping, such as attendance records, student progress notes and routines
  • Help teachers prepare for lessons by assembling materials and equipment
  • Provide personal aid and care as necessary to children, such as help with hygiene, eating and toileting,

Requirements and Qualifications

  • ability to organize Ability to communicate effectively with other teachers and parents
  • In-depth understanding of child development and early childhood learners
  • ability to learn child-centered curriculum and authentic child assessment practices
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Outstanding ability to collect and understand information, and develop, counsel, and implement solutions
  • Strong flexibility in working part time and additional hours

Compensation

$16-$18/h

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
