This Common’s Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining the HMC objectives, assisting with daily operations within the organization's policies and procedures. Supervises and directs the work activity of all associates in Assisted and Independent Living, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff. Monitors clinical needs of residents with physicians and nursing staff to be sure clinical needs are appropriately met. Reports directly to the Commons Manager. Proficient in policies and procedures related to regulatory structure, as well as maintains a high degree of resident and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assisting Manager in all aspects of Assisted and Independent Living as directed by Manager.
- Office duties such as receiving calls, taking messages, directing phone calls.
- Typical office skills such as typing, filing, faxing and processing long term care claims/forms
- Custome service as it relates to incoming door traffic, guests, resident and families.
- Handles residents personal funds, balancing residents accounts accurately with monthly balance sheet.
- On call duties for emergencies, on call for staffing, and overnight on call on a rotational basis with Manager.
- Cross trained to work floor-all shifts and activities and transport as needed to help fill in emergency staffing needs.
- Willing to take responsibilities outside of job description as needs arise.
- Stay at the Commons during inclement weather to ensure resident safety during potential power outages and weather disaster related needs as needed.
- Be able to give Tours in the absence of the Manager and assess inquirer’s for appropriateness as residents.
- Process all necessary admissions paperwork -seeing through the entire process.
- Assist manager and nursing by typing and providing necessary forms, relaying information regarding appt.’s, dr. visits, tests.
- Assisting staff with passwords, training in policy tech and accessing other staff computer needs.
- Willing to work varied hours occasionally as dictated by needs of facility.
- Submit work orders for maintenance and janitor as needed.
- Assist manager in moving /transferring residents personal belongings from apt. to apt.
- Keeps manager informed of resident/family complaints and handling professionally.
- Assist with events, parties and campus events as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or licensed Nurse
- Three to five years management experience in healthcare environment, preferable long-term care, and dementia
- Proven track record of achieving results
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, facilitation, and teamwork skills
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative partnership with internal and external clients
- Ability to work independently
