Job description

Established law firm with over 82 years of combined experience seeks an associate attorney to work primarily in family law (divorce, custody and juvenile), but also to assist with criminal defense and general trial practice. Regular court appearances, flexibility and the ability to balance and manage a large case load will be expected. This firm practices in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd judicial districts regularly and appears in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Tennessee. The ideal candidate would have prior litigation experience and be able to handle files on their own with oversight from partners. The ability to organize and manage a large case list, as well as communication with others in the office is imperative. Prior experience in family law and criminal law are preferred but the firm is willing to consider newer lawyers as well. Proficiency and ability to research, draft pleadings, appear in multiple courts and deal with a wide range of clients are required. A Tennessee law license is required. Compensation will be based upon experience and is extremely competitive for the Northeast Tennessee legal market.
