The position of Design Associate reports to the Principal of Design. A design associate is responsible for assisting the design team with the production and design of our projects. This may involve researching trends, communicating with clients, and procuring materials necessary for designing the project.

This position requires knowledge and experience in hospitality for our design team. You shall be responsible for overseeing numerous hotel design projects and managing several clients for the firm, focusing on high-end hospitality projects, and being accountable for ensuring that the cost and revenue for all your jobs are optimally managed. You will also lead and mentor the team to deliver to the expected timelines effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• You will be expected to learn all aspects of design including interior design, interior architecture and hotel operations and work in all phases of design and production
• Joining meetings with client
• Assisting with determining the scope of work, scope of responsibility, and budget of the design. This candidate understands what all is involved in getting from concept to FF&E procurement and a clear visual of the deadlines, budgets, and time constraints.
• Coordinating with the marketing team to share insights and strategies
• Collaborate with marketing and business development colleagues to establish design and production expectations for projects.
• Under the supervision of leadership, review and comment on FFE and OSE specifications to ensure quality and durability
• Monitor budget, schedule and process of the FFE and OSE
• May be required to organize materials in the library
• Organize and maintain the digital library
• Research and keep up to date on latest hospitality design trends.

Experience:

• Three or more years of industry-related experience.
• Technically proficient with the latest and advanced applications that are used in designing.
• A bachelor's degree, associate degree, or trade school diploma in graphic design or a related field is required.
• 2-5 years of experience in the hospitality industry required
• Must have relevant experience in reviewing on FFE and OSE specifications.
• Experience and knowledge of relevant hospitality industry FFE vendors is required
• Specification writing & material selection experience
