The Role Responsibilities
- The Associate Director, Business Planning will be responsible to support the Americas CEO & Regional Head Client Coverage BPM in driving business results through:
- business performance & sales enablement,
- client portfolio and proposition,
- people agenda and communication,
- regional strategy and project management.
- They will work closely with the Regional Client Coverage, Finance, HR and CABM teams, as well as the other Global Business Development teams. The role is inherently varied and reflects the changing demands and responsibilities of the Business Planning Manager to the CEO and Regional Head, Client Coverage, Americas.
Business performance & sales enablement
- Work with Country Finance to track and review periodically the delivery of agreed business performance and cost targets to budget (revenue, RoRWA, RWA, costs, etc.).
- Support the BPM to the CEO in identifying risks and opportunities to delivering the targeted business performance.
- Support the BPM to the CEO in managing the CEOs and Client Coverage budgets and cost centres in close coordination with HR/ Finance.
- Review and track frontline productivity. Identify areas for improvement.
- Manage weekly pipeline meetings (invite, materials, actions and notes). Work with CCIB Business Development teams on producing accurate business pipelines, financial forecasts and performance dashboards for the Americas Client Coverage segments. Review pipelines weekly to ensure they are up to date and reflect an accurate picture of business momentum.
- Ensure all client coverage processes teams are uploading call reports in a timely manner.
- Support the BPM to the CEO in overseeing the Account Plan execution within renewal timelines. Review Platinum and Gold client lists on a regular basis in conjunction with Segment heads to ensure effective coverage and tracking against objectives: key commercial opportunities, C-suite engagement and realisation of financial aspirations.
- Support in Americas the deployment and adoption of global CRM tools and sales analytics. Consolidate regional feedback for the global teams.
- Support the tracking of any issues and concerns across the Client Coverage Process Universe.
Client portfolio & proposition
- Support the BPM to the CEO in reviewing new client onboarding request and act as approver for new client ID creation.
- Act as point of contact for Americas for client offboarding and handle client tail management process
- Support the BPM to the CEO in tracking the delivery of CCIB differentiated client proposition for Platinum and Gold clients (prioritised onboarding, short credit turnaround times, client services, etc).
- Support the BPM to the CEO in reviewing and tracking adequate and efficient coverage of Platinum, Gold, Silver and Portfolio tier clients, including the execution of global operating model initiatives.
- Support the BPM to the CEO in working with CCIB Marketing teams to define/ execute/ track the annual Marketing plans in the region. Ensure the effective distribution of marketing materials and communications to clients.
- Ensure appropriate classification of clients to either Regulatory or Group appropriateness standards, sale of products accordingly, and the fair treatment of clients in the Region.
- Support complaints handling in accordance with Group standards.
People agenda and communication
- Support the Americas in delivering against HR objectives and initiatives: Diversity and Inclusion targets, high-performing culture, succession planning, etc.
- Work closely with CCIB Business Development team on RM scorecards, including target setting, target uploading, handling/ escalate RM inquiries/ questions regarding scorecard issues.
- Ensure effective communication of key business messages to Client Coverage frontline (including awareness of key operational changes impacting clients, RMs and the broader client teams).
- Contribute and ensure participation of Americas Client Coverage frontline to Group initiatives (townhalls, forums, surveys, etc).
- Work with the BPM to CEO Americas to develop and manage Americas Client Coverage Conduct Plan, ensure all the actions are executed in timely manner.
Regional strategy and project Management
- Support the definition, tracking and delivery of the Americas strategy execution plan.
- Support the execution and tracking of key Group Client Coverage initiatives (incl. remediation efforts)
- Support the Segment Heads (Corporates and FIs) to resolve issues they may face in the day to day – these can range from platform issues, to coordinating with Finance on concerns.
Administrative Support
- Manage bi-weekly Client Coverage and monthly Client Coverage Management Team meetings (invite, materials, actions and notes)
- Attend other key forums as needed incl. Conduct Forum, Client Experience Forum, Client Risk Review Forum, as well as ad-hoc project steering committees
- Maintain various administrative elements: Org Charts, Distribution Lists, Trackers, etc
- Execute on any required approvals as per the authority delegated from the business head.
- Ensure all business heads have the required sources of authority and delegations.

Our Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 5 years of banking experience
- Strong and detailed understanding of CIB business and product capabilities, such as sales process, relationship management, risk, product sales etc
- Strong understanding of End to End client process
- Excellent administration skills including organisation, planning and co-ordination skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills with excellent eye for detail
- Highly proactive, demonstrating ambition, dedication and pride in work
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to delegate and co-ordinate responses from large numbers of stakeholders
- Willing to challenge the status quo, comfortable interacting with senior management

Expected annual base pay range for the role is $93,300 to $139,000. The final offer will be determined on an individualised basis using a number of variables, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and education, internal relativity, and specific work location. At Standard Chartered Bank, Base pay is only part of the total compensation package.
