SUMMARY

The Associate Engineer will be a part of the security engineering team and will assist in various tasks to help the success of the team. The position requires someone who can identify a need and then take initiative to work on that need until it is complete. Skillset will be largely technical, computer software, and hardware.

Requirements:

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists systems engineers with tasks, which could include:
  • Documenting information
  • Cleaning up documentation/checking for consistency
  • Researching very specific issues
  • Organizing data in spreadsheets
  • Adding cameras and doors in Genetec and making small changes as requested
  • Reviews tickets as they come in
  • Unboxes servers and runs them through the checklists
  • Unboxes cameras and programs
  • Opens tickets with manufacturers
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Enrolled or priorly enrolled in CIS or IMS focused degree or a minimum of 3 years of related experience with servers including Windows and switching/routers
  • Self-motivated and can take initiative when they see something needs to be done
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Familiar with troubleshooting steps and techniques
  • Familiar with common computer/network terminology: RAID, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, ROUTER, FIREWALL
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Probationary period of 90 days
  • Individuals with a felony or misdemeanor convictions MAY NOT be hired
  • Individuals must not have any alcohol or drug-related convictions or suspensions within the past three years.
  • Individual must be able to read and understand instructions in English as well as possess good oral & written communication skills.
  • Individual must be able to pass a drug and physical screening as well as background requirements.
  • Individual must be available to work variable hours and willing to travel.
