Who We Are
The Greater Valley YMCA (GVYMCA or GVY) is a volunteer-led, nonprofit, community organization. The Y is committed to strengthening community by positively changing lives every day. At each of our branches, we concentrate our efforts on three areas: Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility. And we do so in a way that upholds the Y’s traditional family values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, and Honesty.
For over 100 years, the Y has made tangible differences in the communities of Allentown, Bethlehem, Catasauqua, Easton, Forks, Nazareth, those comprising the Slate Belt region and the Lehigh Valley as a whole. Founded as individual YMCAs as early as 1897, the following branches of the Greater Valley Y merged together between 2010 and 2015: the Nazareth YMCA, the Suburban North Family YMCA, the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg & Vicinity and the Bethlehem YMCA. In 2014, the Forks YMCA Education Center was established. The Slate Belt branch was opened in 2015. In January 2017, the Allentown YMCA joined the Greater Valley YMCA.

What We Are Looking For
We’re looking for a talented and capable Digital Marketing Coordinator to help us support and improve our digital marketing efforts. Your creative thinking talents and methods will be critical in driving our digital story, increasing our organization’s image, strengthening client digital communication, and stimulating company growth through effective campaigns.
Candidates for this position should be creative and imaginative, have a strong understanding of multimedia, be well-organized, and be outstanding writers and communicators. You should have a deep knowledge of the various digital contact points and be able to execute highly efficient digital marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a strong instinct to think outside the box and experiment with new ideas, deep working knowledge of current digital marketing best practices, and a commitment to supporting our communities.
A Day in the Life as a Digital Marketing Coordinator
As our Digital Marketing Coordinator, you will work alongside our team to raise public awareness of our organization through online and offline channels. Your core responsibility is to perform extensive market research to ensure our content resonates with our target audience and design and implement marketing strategies across all social media platforms.
Responsibilities As a Digital Marketing Coordinator
- Growing and developing a variety of content for GVY’s social media channels, marketing programs, and resources and raising awareness of the GVY’s mission and programs by creating and sharing interesting, relevant, and engaging content.
- Create and execute marketing campaigns on leading social media platforms, namely Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Research and be up to date with the latest advertising trends
- Update and optimize campaigns in accordance with analytics
- Meet or exceed KPIs
- Help with the creation and execution of SEO strategies on occasion
- E-blast newsletters regularly
- Identify new and innovative ways to enhance and expand GVY’s social media presence and outreach to various stakeholders.
- Managing the GVY website, which includes creating a variety of content, ensuring that the site is fresh and timely, accurate, representative of GVY’s many bodies of work, and engaging to a variety of audiences.
- Coordinating and creating regular, topical, and timely content for GVY’s blogs and channels; working with GVY staff to author blogs and posts.
- Researching new possibilities for outreach and collaboration with partner organizations.
- Identifying strategies to engage with media outlets, reporters, and social media influencers.
- Google Ad Wordgrants with SEO section
- Graphic design and program-specific marketing materials
- In-Branch signage
- Program/Membership participant surveys and responses to online survey completion
- Producing videos for social media, events, and other marketing opportunities.
- Developing and compiling monthly reports and web analytics to inform content creation; setting benchmarks and goals to track progress and growth.
- Maintaining and upholding GVY’s branding and messaging guidelines in all digital and printed materials.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned.
Who You Would Report to
- Chief Development Officer
Expected Hours Per Week
- Full-time exempt
- 40.00 hours
- M-F 8:30-4:30, with occasional evening and weekend work
Pay Range
- $42,000 to $46,000 /year
Where You Would Be Working
- Hybrid Schedule
- GVYMCA Association Office: 2132 S. 12th St, Ste. 201, Allentown, PA 18103
- Occasional travel to GVYMCA branches and other locations throughout the Lehigh Valley
Requirements
This Role Might Be For You If You Have:
- A commitment to equity and reducing disparities based on race, ethnicity, immigration status, sovereignty, gender, sexual orientation/gender identity, and socioeconomics.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant field is not required but welcomed; experience is preferred
- Fluency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite,
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Acrobat
- basic HTML;
- Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube;
- Hootsuite and Constant Contact (other social media management/monitoring tools a plus);
- Basic HTML and website publishing, including Wordpress (other CMS skills a plus);
- Constant Contact (other database skills a plus);
- Photography and video creation and editing skills (are a plus.)
- Experience creating compelling, engaging, and ROI-driven digital content.
- Experience building social media channels and executing social media strategy for maximum engagement, particularly for mission-driven non-profits or through cause-based marketing.
- Knowledge of some or all of the substantive areas that contribute to successful outcomes for children and families, e.g., housing, neighborhood development, education, health and social services, childcare, collaborative decision-making, community capacity building, and other fields.
- The ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure and to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
- The ability to work independently; a self-starter with a high level of motivation, creativity, and proactivity.
- Basic knowledge of web and social media analytical tools
- Advanced knowledge of social media marketing
- Advanced knowledge of market trends
- A valid and current drivers license and record that meets YMCA standards
- The ability to travel to different Y Branch Locations in Allentown, Bethlehem, Catasauqua, Easton, Forks Twp., Nazareth and Pen Argyl
- Are able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff, members, and vendors
- Have good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player
- Possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude
- (Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required)
Physical prowess not required
- You don’t need to be a world-class athlete, but you will have some light physical demands (i.e. spending hours listening and talking; working on the computer and phone; driving to appointments and events; lifting light pieces of equipment and materials; and occasionally working long days, nights or weekends).
