The State College Area School District is searching for an Attendance Secretary at Ferguson Township Elementary School. The Attendance Secretary works with students, parents, and visitors. Responsibilities include the management of student attendance; attendance documentation; arrival and dismissal information; management of difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy; and other duties as assigned.The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations; demonstrate a commitment to diversity; demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, customer service, administrative, and organizational skills; and have the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
Experience in public education and/or completion of an accredited secretarial and/or accounting training program is preferred. Experience in a secretarial, or administrative assistant position is required.
