Job Summary
At Daniels Tire Service, an Auto Technician/Mechanic maintains service operations by inspecting, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles as assigned by the counter Salesperson, Service Manager, or Store Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
Automobile Technician Mechanic Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine issues; completing transmission work, suspension work, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; completing alignments, and diagnostics.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Creates PMI on vehicles to recommend maintenance, service and repairs.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; making repairs
- Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; requesting orders; verifying receipt.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- And any other work as required on a customer passenger or light truck vehicle, or assigned by Store Manager.

- Electric Vehicle Service: 2 years (Required)
- AC Reoair: 2 years (Required)
- Alignments: 2 years (Required)
- General Auto Repair: 5 years (Required)
- Front End/ Suspension: 5 years (Required)
- Automotive diagnostics: 5 years (Required)
- Engine Repair: 5 years (Required)
- Transmissions: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- CA Drivers' License (Required)
- ASE Certifications (Preferred)
