Job Description

True Anomaly is looking for creative and experienced automation engineers to develop custom work stations and test equipment for our spacecraft factory. In this role, you are responsible for defining the requirements, architecture, hardware development, electrical development, and software development to create new work stations that support both development and production of spaceflight hardware. Bring your ideas for a factory of the future and apply them in a fast paced production environment with same-year space flight results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with product line team to develop work station and automation needs.
  • Design, develop, fabricate, and test work stations including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software aspects.
  • Maintain configuration control of each work station and perform software updates and bug-fixes.
  • Tie all work stations into Factory Operating System.
  • Develop and manage multiple projects including schedule, budget, vendor selection, and project execution.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Develop process FMEAs and perform key variable monitoring and reporting.
  • Drive innovative automation solutions to make our facility a factory of the future.
  • Mentor other engineers in design for manufacturing and automation.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in controls, mechanical, electrical, software, or industrial engineering.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in development and execution of automation projects.
  • Demonstrated excellence in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and software systems
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor
  • Proficiency programming for Beckhoff Automation IPCs including C# and Azure SQL or MSSQL
  • Passion for the space industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with little input on requirements or management oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in controls, mechanical, electrical, software, or industrial engineering.
  • 4+ years experience in development and execution of automation projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Unity programming
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience designing building power, HVAC, and/or pneumatics

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Temporary remote status available pending relocation if not a local candidate.

Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
