Automation Software Engineer - Experience with C#, C++, PLC, Beckhoff
Job description
Preco is hiring a Software Engineer in Lenexa, Kansas.
As a Software Engineer with Preco, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software for machine controls. You will also participate in customization of existing products and develop new products. The right candidate will be able to provide support by programming of PLC and PC based applications. This role requires experience with C# using WPF and C++.

With our proprietary die cutting and laser-based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain software for machine control applications
- Customization of existing products and development of new product
- Debug and post-sale support for Preco equipment
- Ensure software designs meet equipment requirements
- Develop software specifications and flow charts
- Coordinates and engages in testing and documentation of software
- Provides additional or back-up support for projects when passed to production engineering
- Works individually or a part of a team depending on a project’s scope
- Communicates project status to Director of Engineering
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science with Engineering emphasis, or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years work experience in software development for the manufacturing industry
- C# programming experience using WPF (MVVM a bonus, not required)
- C++ programming experience (MFC a bonus, not required)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- PLC programming experienced receives stronger consideration (not required)
