AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN – UINTAH COUNTY

Greylock Energy is actively seeking an Automation Technician to work in and around Uintah County area. The position will report through our Vernal, Utah office.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • Implement safe work practices and participate in a proactive safety culture that consistently prioritizes the safety of our Team Members, and the communities where we operate while also protecting the environment.
  • Effectively install and troubleshoot automation and measurement equipment used for natural gas & oil production, data gathering, field communications, saltwater disposals, water transfer systems, and burner management systems on combustors/flares.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with engineering and SCADA departments to find and implement innovative solutions for existing problems.
  • Must work well with other team members through communication, collaboration, and connection.
  • Demonstrate the willingness and initiative to take on new projects.
  • Work daily with equipment that monitors pressure, levels, flow, motor controls on pumps, valve controls, and alarm monitoring.
  • Assist in the building of custom logic within PLC’s/EFM’s for the control of valves, pumps, and alarm monitoring.
  • Available to work unscheduled overtime and respond to call outs in a timely manner.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

This role is a combination of indoors and outdoors, requires traveling to different locations within the operating area, and requires working in all types of weather.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires extended periods of physical activity including walking, kneeling, climbing, bending, reaching, lifting and using hand tools. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Permanent residence or United States citizenship is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office productions (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), with the ability to learn multiple new software programs used in configuration of field devices are required.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills are required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of electrical or field automation within the oil & gas industry is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with various EFM’s/PLC’s, Roclink 800 software, FST, PMWO, FB 503, FB 107, ROC 800, Foxboro Devices, Rosemount/Emerson Devices, Vega Products, MDS Transnet Radios, ABB Tropos, Cambium radio’s, GE Quick panel HMIs, and Red Lion HMIs is preferred.
