AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC - PRYOR, OK


****SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION*****


Kemp Quarries Inc., a privately-owned group of companies, is a leading producer and supplier of construction aggregates, consisting primarily of crushed stone, sand and gravel spanning NE Oklahoma, SW Missouri and NW Arkansas.


Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examine cars, and light duty trucks based on driver requests or concerns
  • Perform basic scheduled maintenance, including changing motor oil, rotating tires, and checking fluid levels
  • Repair or replace worn parts and systems, such as spark plugs, wheel bearings, brake pads, fuel systems, and sensors
  • Follow checklists to ensure thorough examination of all parts and systems
  • Identify mechanical and electrical problems with both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment
  • Perform repairs thoroughly and accurately
  • Ability to keep work area clean and orderly
  • Ability to follow written and verbal direction

Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology a plus
  • ASE certification preferred
  • Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess own tools. Company to provide specialty tools.
  • A/C certification is preferred
  • Experience with alternative fuels or willingness to obtain certification a plus

The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
