Job Summary:
We are seeking a leader in automotive technical sales with proven record of successfully managing large automotive opportunities and driving them through presales, program management, and into the successful launch.
If you are self-motivated, experienced problem solver, data driven, and a great communicator, you would be an ideal candidate to join our team and provide technical sales leadership for the company and our valued customers.
You will help PTC penetrate and drive business at key OEMs and Tier suppliers leading to long-term high-volume purchase contracts. The ideal candidate will be proficient at understanding customer requirements, aligning capabilities, and managing resources and expectations to meet corporate and customer objectives. This position will be based out of mid-west with the optimal individual being in the Michigan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with sales organization and cross functional teams in securing and growing our market share for Automotive tube applications by collaborating with customer and supply chain during concept, design, development, production, and delivery phases
Create program management process and manage technical development activities. Including but not limited to gathering spec, print, and other requirement from customers and put technical feasibility plan together. Work with customer to make qualification and product development plan. Prepare timeline for newly awarded programs, manage milestones, and deliver a successful launch working with rest of the organization.
Manage assigned key automotive accounts and their day-to-day functions
Manage and lead client escalations and communication across the organization. Use available tools to make sure company interests are protected while meeting customer needs and demands
Use technical feasibility process to run customer inquiries through different internal review process to build reliable quote which can be presented to customer, book meetings with customer, and guide the opportunity further to close the sale
Work with inside sales group to manage and lead client escalations and communication across the organization
Work with sales director and assist in developing long and short-term sales strategies in line with corporate strategies
Advocate for Automotive customers internally; ensure high quality service at all customer touch points to maintain customer trust, loyalty, and confidence.
Provide guidance to internal teams on customer specific requirements and processes
The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and Responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTCA Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
10+ years of automotive technical sales or technical program management experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or related field. Engineering degree is preferred in Mechanical engineering or related field
Proven record of driving success through technical sales, product qualification, program management, APQP, PPAP and other process required to safely launch new product
Technical sales background in the tube or steel industry is a plus
